As you know, technology is rapidly evolving and changing. Which means whether you are the average person or an IT professional, you're constantly learning, unlearning and relearning.

Staying on top of trends is how we are able to keep up with the times.

That's why you've clicked on this newsletter; because you know these tech trends will affect your life.

Whether it's knowing the skills you'll need to secure your next job, or even how to make the most of your time at home, here are the top 5 tech trends to look out for in 2023!

Smart Devices are Getting Smarter

Our world has drastically become more intelligent and smoother functioning thanks in large part to artificial intelligence.

AI goes above and beyond mere human simulation to make our lives easier and more convenient.

You should know that smart devices are here to stay.

For 2023, data scientists are developing AI home robots, appliances, work devices, wearables and much more.

Even now, almost every job requires some sort of smart software to make work life more manageable.

Smarter devices are in higher demand than ever as more businesses make the transition into a digital workspace.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Speaking of AI, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning has received a lot of buzz in the past decade.

It continues to be a new trend year after year because the evolution notably effects how we live, work, and play.

AI is already well-known for its dominance in a wide range of fields, including ride-sharing apps, smartphone personal assistants, image and speech recognition, navigation apps, and much more.

In the new year, you can expect AI to be used to further examine interactions in order to determine underlying relationships and insights, to predict demand for services like hospitals so that decision-makers can allocate resources more effectively, and to pick up on shifting customer behavior patterns.

AI will be able to analyze data in real-time to drive revenue and enhance personalized experiences.

By 2025, the AI market will be worth $190 billion, with over $57 billion expected to be spent globally on cognitive and AI systems in 2023.

New jobs will be created in development, programming, testing, support, and maintenance, to name a few, as AI spreads throughout industries.

Working in AI also offers some of the highest paid salaries ranging from over $125,000 per year to $145,000 per year - making AI one of the top new technology trend you should watch out for!

Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Extended Reality (ER)

The next notable technology trend will be the improvements to Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Extended Reality (ER).

While VR immerses users in a created environment, AR enhances it.

Despite the fact that this technology is known mostly for gaming, it is also used for training.

For example, VirtualShip, which is a simulation program used to train captains of the U.S. Navy, Army, and Coast Guard.

In 2023, we can anticipate further integration of these technologies into daily life.

AR and VR and frequently used in connection with some other cutting-edge technologies.

They have a huge potential for use in marketing, training, entertainment, education, and even post-injury rehab.

Either can be used to improve upon theme parks, train surgeons to do surgery, give museum visitors a richer experience, or even improve marketing efforts.

While some employers might look for optics as a skill-set, it's important to keep in mind that getting started in VR doesn't require a lot of specialized knowledge - basic programming skills and a forward-thinking mindset can land a job; another reason why this new technology trend should make up to your list of lookouts!

Blockchain

Next we have blockchain. And I know what you're thinking, but it's really not all about cryptocurrencies.

Beyond Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, blockchain offers security that is useful for many other things.

To put it simply, blockchain can be summed up as data you can only add too, not subtract or change.

The term "chain" comes from the idea that you are creating a chain of data.

What makes it so safe is that you are unable to change previous blocks.

Blockchains are also consensus-driven, meaning no one entity can control the data.

It eliminates the requirement of a third party to supervise and verify transactions.

Now that blockchains have gained some momentum, several industries are using and implementing blockchain to grow.

With the usage of blockchain growing, so too does the demand for qualified professionals. Becoming a blockchain developer means you will focus on creating and implementing blockchain-based solutions and architecture.

These positions earn on average a half a million dollars per year.

Cybersecurity

The next trend you can expect are improvements in cybersecurity.

I know I know, cybersecurity may not seem like a new technology trend, but it is developing just as other technologies are.

This is actually a great thing if you consider how many ongoing threats are emerging.

Don't expect the malicious hackers who are attempting to gain unauthorized access to data to give up anytime soon.

They will continue to look for ways to get through event the toughest security measures.

These new improvements are all thanks to the enhancements to modern technology.

Cybersecurity will continue to be a popular tech trend that changes and evolves as long as there are hackers.

Those are all the major tech trends you can expect to see in 2023. But, I do want to touch on some honorable mentions I came across that I think deserve a little recognition.

New Energy Solutions

By now, a majority of people are aware of their carbon footprint.

You can expect a significant increase in the number of alternative energy solutions within the next year.

This means more electric cars, a bigger push for solar powered homes and much more.

3D Printing

3D printing is a fun trend to look out for because of all the advancements already made with the process.

I mean people are literally PRINTING houses.

You can expect to see impactful steps taken within the biomedical and industrial sector with this technology .

Genomics

Not Genomics has the potential to really change our lives.

Imagine a technology where you can view your DNA to improve your health.

Genomics technology is working on exactly that.

We soon will be able to quantify our genes to pinpoint if we have a disease or other issues before it becomes a major problem.

Well there you have it. The top 5 tech trends to look out for in 2023. Which trends are you most excited to see?
