Brand New Feature to Reduce Browser Tabs
Every one of us works in a different way. Some of us prefer to have only the most essentials displayed on our screens. Others thrive in an environment where everything is visible and open. What if I were to tell you there is a brand new feature to reduce browser tabs.
I think we can all agree that having 20 tabs open in your browser at once is inefficient.
Simply because it takes so much more time to find the web pages and services when you need them.
This might not be a problem for much longer.
Introducing…again… Microsoft Edge
If you’re a fan of Microsoft browser Edge, it’ll be interesting to know about a new feature that is launching soon.
Workspaces was first announced a year ago, in April 2021. However, Microsoft has remained silent on the subject since then. We assume we’d never hear more.
However, a preview build of Edge has just been released for developers that contain the option to create new Workspaces. As a result, it appears that the feature will be rolled out in the next months.
This brand new feature to reduce browser tabs on Workspaces allows you to group browser tabs together and open or close them with a single click.
This will be useful in a variety of ways. Perhaps to keep personal and work-related information separate. Additionally, you might group together information that relates to different projects.
These groupings can have labels and color-codes to make it easy to find the right information at the right moment.
And, unless you delete a Workspace, all of your tabs will be there for you when you reopen Edge.
What to use in the mean time
There is no set release date just yet. But if you can’t wait to start, there’s more good news: Google’s Chrome browser already has a similar working feature with the name, tab groups.
You can combine tabs together, label them, and color code them with a simple right-click. You have the ability to rearrange them on your tab strip to further organize them.
